Dyfed-Powys Police has confirmed it was the target of a cyber-attack on 14 September 2026 that disrupted its non-emergency systems, and says it is investigating whether information relating to its staff “may have been accessed or compromised”.

The force disclosed the incident on Friday morning. A spokesperson said Dyfed-Powys Police “remains fully operational” and that its response to emergency incidents had not been affected. Telephone services — 999 and 101 — were not affected, while online and email contact were unavailable for a period but have since been restored.

The Information Commissioner’s Office has been notified. The force said there was no evidence that the public’s personal data had been accessed or compromised, but added: “We are, however, continuing to investigate whether any information relating to our staff may have been accessed or compromised, and are taking all appropriate steps to protect that information, and will provide appropriate advice to colleagues if required.”

The investigation is being managed by Tarian through its regional cyber-crime unit, with support from cyber-security specialists, and force systems are being closely monitored.
