BEAD Money Tracker

Last verified: 27 September 2026. Where the US$42.45bn BEAD programme's money is going — one row per subaward, each with its source. This is a structured, citable feed, not a headline count: every row carries a named source you can check.

Dataset release 2026.09.27.1 — schema v1.0.0, 38 rows, Texas + Louisiana + North Dakota + Washington, US$1,695,943,628 across 364,401 locations promised. Machine-readable copies: CSV · JSON · release notes.

The same release also powers the county awards database — every award in one filterable table with a county/parish column. For the full history behind these awards, see the BEAD timeline: 2021–2026. Texas — final subgrantee awards

Seventeen provider-level final BEAD subgrantee agreements, announced by the Texas Broadband Development Office around 3 June 2026 and reported on 4 June 2026 — US$1,067,572,760 across 208,873 locations. Verification: press report (re-verified 26 September 2026). The Texas BDO has not published an official final award list or a county breakdown, so these rows are not presented as an official record — each is transcribed from a trade-press report that quotes the BDO, with that report linked per row. Rows older than 90 days without re-verification are retired from the published feed.

Note: in August 2026 the Texas Comptroller paused all BEAD disbursements pending an audit (reported by Fierce Network). The awards below remain awarded; disbursement timing may change.

Amounts are awards as published, not money disbursed. County-level splits have not been published for Texas, so rows are provider-level. Subgrantee names are copied exactly as published.

Louisiana — announced Benefit-of-the-Bargain awards

Twelve provider-level BEAD awards announced by ConnectLA (Louisiana's broadband office) under the post-restructure "Benefit of the Bargain" round — US$498,296,587 across 126,798 locations promised. The round is documented in Louisiana's BEAD Final Proposal v7.0 (18 November 2025), which incorporates the June 2025 federal restructuring. Verification: press report (re-verified 26 September 2026). The per-provider amounts below are transcribed from a trade-press report of the state's announcement, linked per row — the Final Proposal's narrative confirms the round and its results (~$500m for about 127,000 locations) but does not publish per-provider figures in its text, and no county breakdown or per-provider technology split has been published. These rows are not presented as an official award list; they carry status "announced" rather than "awarded".

Note: the state's announced total of $499,079,587 includes a $783,000 line for 1,044 "potential additional" LEO locations that are explicitly not yet awarded — that line is excluded from the rows below and from the totals. The state's initial (pre-restructure) recommendations of $748m for 139,677 locations were superseded by this round.

Amounts are awards as announced, not money disbursed. The state reports roughly 80% of locations will get fibre and 9% LEO satellite, but no per-provider technology split has been published — rows without a published technology are labelled accordingly. Subgrantee names are copied exactly as published.

North Dakota — finalized subgrantee awards

Two finalized BEAD subgrantee contracts, announced by the North Dakota Information Technology department (NDIT) in early May 2026 — US$6,133,968 across 279 locations promised. Verification: official document (checked 26 September 2026). The figures are transcribed from an official North Dakota Legislative Management presentation (November 2025) recording the NTIA-approved sub-awards; NDIT announced the finalized contracts with both providers on 6 May 2026 (reported by Broadband Communities). No county breakdown or per-provider technology split has been published — NDIT describes the state's BEAD projects as primarily fiber — so rows are provider-level and labelled accordingly. With 279 locations, this is the smallest state award list published so far.

Amounts are awards as published, not money disbursed. One published figure carries cents (BEK: $5,942,467.35) and is stored in whole dollars. Subgrantee names are copied exactly as published.

Washington — first-wave signed subgrantee contracts

Seven signed BEAD subgrantee contracts, announced by the Washington State Broadband Office (~24–25 September 2026) — US$123,940,313 across 28,451 locations promised. Verification: press report (checked 27 September 2026). The figures are transcribed from Telecompetitor’s report of the WSBO’s announced contract chart; the state has not published an official machine-readable award list. These are the first seven of 26 winners — contracts with the remaining 19 were still unsigned at publication, with a state signing deadline of 8 October 2026, so this section will grow as new contracts are announced. Per-provider technology has not been published (the state reports 21,858 wireless and 6,594 fibre locations across the seven in aggregate), and only the four largest awards are broken out by county — the three smaller awards serve Tribal communities.

Amounts are awards as announced, not money disbursed. The state said the seven contracts total about US$165.1m including roughly US$41.2m in matching funds from state, private and other sources (project totals above are BEAD funding only); the three Tribal-award figures are exact, the four larger awards are rounded by the source, and the rows sum to US$123,940,313 against the state’s announced ~US$123.9m. Subgrantee names are copied exactly as published.

Coverage and what’s next

Watch checked 1 October 2026. Washington’s seven first-wave signed contracts remain the tracker’s latest extraction (US$123.9m BEAD, ~28,452 locations — see the Washington section above); the state still has 19 of 26 winners unsigned, with an 8 October 2026 signing deadline. North Carolina: the state’s caveat is unchanged: “All awards are contingent until they are contracted by the division in 2026” — our 207-row “Approved BEAD Awards” fetch stays archived until contracting is confirmed. California: the CPUC’s Final Proposal page still lists “preliminary awards”; the 17 September 2026 5–0 ratification stands, but the decision whether to sign the NTIA agreement is still ahead — the end-September acceptance deadline reported in press coverage has now passed: as of this check the agreement is still unsigned and no extension has been confirmed. Florida: FloridaCommerce documents still label the winners “provisional awardees” (Post-Award FAQs v22, 30 June 2026); no executed contracts announced. Missouri: still “Provisional Awardee” / “Provisional Award” on the state’s BEAD page (NTIA approved its final proposal on 6 January 2026).

Also on watch: Alabama (“preliminarily approved” projects, contract development under way — no new contracting confirmation), Michigan (still provisional; press reports say contracts were signed in August, but the state has not relabelled its list), Virginia and Georgia (both still “provisional BEAD awards” — press reports say Virginia signed agreements with 19 of its 22 winners in early August, but the state has not relabelled its list).

Rows land here as soon as verifiable lists publish; the plan is to expand toward the top-10 BEAD-allocation states over the coming weeks. Disputed, paused, or restated awards keep their row and their history — restatements get a new row linked from the old one, never a silent edit. The primary documents behind these figures — final proposals, NTIA approvals, broadband-office releases — live in our BEAD public-documents archive. Spotted something wrong or missing?
