Starlink will start providing internet access services in Bosnia and Herzegovina “in a few days or weeks”, the country’s Communications and Transport Minister Edin Forto announced in Sarajevo.

The announcement came after Forto met Rebecca Slick Hunter, Starlink’s director for global licensing and market activation. Forto described the service as “serious infrastructure that can replace what BiH has not done for the development of broadband high-speed Internet”, adding: “We cannot move forward as a country without infrastructure that will enable companies and citizens to have access to such an Internet.”

Forto said there was a possibility of working with Starlink to connect schools with broadband internet where it is most needed and where the infrastructure is not yet developed. Slick Hunter said she was satisfied that the start of Starlink services in BiH was approaching, thanked BiH institutions for their support, and said pricing covering the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina would be announced in the coming period.

Starlink has already registered a local legal entity, “Starlink BH” d.o.o., and on 22 May 2026 submitted a request to the Communications Regulatory Agency for a licence to operate as an internet service provider.

The coming-weeks timeline was also reported by SeeNews. For an indication of pricing, the Sarajevo Times noted that in neighbouring Croatia the Mini terminal sells for 199 euros, the standard home kit costs around 349 euros, and residential subscriptions start at 29 euros a month.
