Fitness entrepreneur and former Bachelor Australia star Sam Wood has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting after an alleged incident in Noosa on Saturday evening; he was refused bail and faces court on Monday.
Fitness entrepreneur and former Bachelor Australia star Sam Wood has been charged over an alleged domestic violence incident in Noosa, Queensland, and was refused police bail, 7News reports via TV Blackbox.
According to 7News, police were called to an address on Hastings Street at around 9pm on Saturday following reports of alleged domestic violence. Wood, 46, has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting under Queensland law. He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
The charges are allegations only; Wood has not been convicted of any offence and is entitled to the presumption of innocence. Queensland Police statements did not name the man, with media identifying him via sources, particle.news reported.
Wood rose to fame as the Bachelor on Channel 10’s The Bachelor Australia in 2015, where he met his now-wife Snezana Markoski. He later founded the 28 by Sam Wood fitness brand, which was sold for more than $71 million in 2022, and has remained a regular on Australian television including Sunrise.
